I love that all the ideas are right there but it's easy to change it to your own preferences! I suggest using Fox Print for the pictures they print 3x3 and 4x4 pictures and picture stickers! So, I'm confused about the high ratings. I seriously don't see how anyone is able to take one of their baby's photos ad shrink them to proof size, in able to put in the oddly sized squares offended in these pages. The artwork/imagery is gorgeous and appealing to look at, which is the first thing that I noticed about this book. My firstborn's baby book was a gift given to me, and I have to say, this baby book beats it for so many reasons (starting with the beautiful artwork). My firstborn's baby book was all pale blue and white - very boring to look at even after filling it out and adding pictures and stickers. I did not like the set up of the book at all. THIS baby book has a great format. The book starts off with some simple stuff like a picture of the ultrasound, how far along you were in pregnancy during the ultrasound, a picture of mama's belly, who you first told about the pregnancy, etc. The space for all of the information for when baby is born is simple and adorable, and there is a big page where you can include foot prints and hand prints. There's space to include a birth announcement, hospital bracelet and a picture of the baby's new home. All of the months (e.g. "1 Month," "2 Month," "3 Month," etc.) are back to back pages which I LOVE, because they are all in one place. I can only imagine how cute it will be to flip through these pages and see the growth of our child. Each month has a few things you can write about, such as "We'll never forget..." "You love..." "You don't like..." "You can..." Very simple, but some nice stuff to jot down. Someone mentioned that the spaces for the pictures are too small, so much that said person got very upset. I have to say that I completely disagree. The spaces given for photos are pretty generous, and much larger than I have seen in other baby books. In my firstborn's baby book, the spaces for the pictures were so tiny, at least half of the size of what you are given in this baby book. There is a page for your baby's favorite things, such as: song, cartoon, color, foods, sound, friend, game, toys, and book. What I especially love about this baby book is that you have moments that go beyond the first year. I'd say that the only "downside" is that you have very limited space to write, but at the same time, the format is so simple and straight forward that you don't have much reason to write more than what they give you the space for. All in all, it's a beautiful, simple, and thoughtful baby book that I would recommend to anyone who is looking for a precious keepsake for their children to flip through when they are older. But I still wish there was a tad more to it! This book is gorgeous. However, it's more of a photo album than a baby's record book. The spaces to fill out info are very short. I ended up buying a second book that had more relevant information for baby's first year and had more space to actually fill out things about baby. I think this book would be great for someone who doesn't want to spend a lot of time making a "baby book". I am an artsy, crafty soul and I love to keep mementos and add my own stuff. With that in mind, this book didn't work the way I wanted it to, but it is an easy way to keep track of baby's first year (and first 5 birthdays). I might recommend to mommies with more than 1 baby, because it is not as tome consuming as a traditional "fill out every sentence" book. I have been writing in this book for 9 months and went to print and add pictures today. all of the photos are 4X4 which means if you have taken photos on your iphone you'll have a hard time cropping them to fit unless you took them far enough away. Not the case for me. So I'm throwing this book away and doing one entirely online. This was my third child, but first little girl so I'm not new to baby books. It's not the books fault I took the pictures incorrectly. However, if I were you, I'd go with a book that uses standard size photos and not square photos. It'll save a lot of time and heartache. We have two different "boy" themed ones and then purchased this one for our baby girl due in October. We love the cute graphics inside and the prompts to fill in throughout their first year of life. Great quality, colors are vibrant and beautiful and I know these are something we will cherish for the rest of our children's lives! Each page is thick enough to write in the blanks with a marker and no bleeding through! Can't recommend this item enough! I have the one with the elephant on the cover for my son, and I love that I can get a matching one for my new baby daughter. The only downside would be that the picture spots are not standard size photos so you have to cut your pictures down, and if you don't have a good cutting machine or aren't very crafty then your photos might look hand cut and not as nice. I have a cricket cutting machine that will cut my photos Precisely, so it's not a big deal for me. And also, it asks very simple questions and it takes the guesswork out of having to figure out what to write in the baby book. There is a page for your baby's family tree. First bath, first smile, first Dr. visit, etc. Spaces for dates and pictures for important milestones such as when baby learns to sit up, crawl, stand, walk, etc. Then, there are a few consecutive pages where you can put pictures of their first holidays.
There are pages dedicated to your baby's birthdays going up to age 5. There is a page for you child's first day of school.
At the end of the book, you get several pages that are blank where you can put whatever you want - great for moms who love to scrapbook.

I do recommend getting it before baby is born, as there are somethings in there meant for pre-baby.
